APA INI is a new dOeK group, appearing for first time in November 2002. Sinuous melodies, subtle sound explorations, raw improvisations and incredible rhythmic diversity and drive produces music that is both emotionally-charged and intellectually satisfying: reflective, grooving, wild, beautiful. Students from the ICVA high school in Amsterdam had to the chance to experience this first-hand during a school concert in the Bimhuis in January. Apa ini plans to include school concerts and workshops in their activities in 2003/04. A CD, apa ini, recorded live in the Bimhuis, was released in the spring of 2003.
